EcoSocialist Family Hike part two....

It is such a pleasure to be able to leave your front door and walk a beautiful trail down to a very remote canyon, where the Feather River provides excellent pools for fishing and refreshment.

Joni, Jazmine and me with our dog: Angel. Angel has turned into exactly that. Yes, she is impish at times (she loves to run off with shoes, or whatever object you treasure at the moment). She is friendly. And she keeps a watchful eye on the girls at all times...

When we got to the bottom of the canyon, we found this snake next to the river. It's not a Rattlesnake.
The unidentified snake was black. It had a couple of red marks under it's chin. Big, at 2 1/2 feet and maybe an inch and a half wide at it's thickest. We watched it for five minutes or so, before it finally spooked and splashed away...
